Barcelona property prices rise by 8.8%

Property prices in Barcelona have risen by 8.8% year-on-year to €2,641 per square metre in the third quarter, according to the Tinsa IMIE report.
This is despite nationwide growth slowing slightly, standing at 0.8%.
Property consultants Tinsa also revealed that the Community of Madrid was the second best performing region, with prices increasing by 5.4% year-on-year to €2,155 per square metre.
Across the country, property prices have risen to an average of €1,210 per square metre.
It was also revealed that the average time it takes to complete a property sale is 10.6 months.
Tinsa said that the Spanish property market was continuing to stabilise, albeit with a “slight moderation” in the speed of growth.
The average property price has increased 7.6% in Barcelona since the beginning of 2016, while the whole of Catalonia has seen a rise of 3.8%.
Prices in the Community of Madrid rose by 2.9% from the start of the year.
