April Dress Down Continues…

Currencies Direct April 22nd 2009 - 2 minute read

Isn’t this the perfect weather for giving to charity!! We had another productive Dress Down Friday last week with a Rate Watch Rollover and a few beers being consumed at the end of the day all supervised by the capable Barney while Phil is off sunning himself in South Africa! The collecting tubs were all topped up and this Friday will be the last Dress Down Friday in April so the last chance that we all have to donate to Cancer Research, Save the Children or the British Heart Foundation – there are lots of golden coins left to buy and lots of room in the collecting tubs!! Next months charities are Leukaemia Research, Alzheimer’s Research and Barnardo’s. It’s a while since we’ve had a talk from a charity, but tomorrow afternoon at 4pm a representative from Cancer Research will be coming into the office to tell us more about what they do, who they help and how we can get more involved. Don’t worry I will be coming round to remind you all to come into the board room tomorrow when they are ready! Remember the 2 Food Chain Collecting Tins that we were collecting spare coins and foreign currency? Well we have managed to fill one already – Tina from The Food Chain popped in this morning to swap the laden tub with a new empty one and she has just let me know that it contained – GBP14.52 that's enough for eight meals on a Sunday to a person suffering with HIV, so every penny really does count! Thank you to everyone who put their coins in – let’s see how long it takes to fill another one! This week I will be passing over the reigns to Claire Kelly for Dress Down Friday, who I’m sure will be chasing you all for money on Friday. Barney will be doing Rate Watch and I’m sure there will be more than a couple of beers consumed before you are all off on the Antz Colony Get Together – I’m sorry I won’t see you all there!
