Always a key event on the online seller’s calendar, Amazon Prime Day is fast approaching. So, now is the best time to get prepared.
We’re pleased to announce an exciting new development in our partnership with French online marketplace, Cdiscount. Euro Collection Accounts supplied by Currencies Direct will now be featured as an approved payment collection method during the seller registration period and existing sellers will benefit from the ability to set-up Collection Accounts directly via the Cdiscount seller’s portal.
The continued collaboration between Cdiscount and Currencies Direct addresses the need for a cost-effective and straightforward way that non-EU based sellers can receive their euro sales revenue.
Historically the conversion of foreign currency sales has been a barrier for international sellers entering new markets; traditional bank transfers typically cost a seller as much as 4% of their sales revenue and come with added charges that can erode profit margins from international sales.
The introduction of a Collection Account puts control back into the hands of the seller who can receive euro sales and convert them at a wholesale exchange rate with Currencies Direct - saving as much as 75% in foreign exchange costs compared to a standard bank transfer. The added flexibility of choosing when to make a transfer allows the possibility of maximising returns by monitoring exchange rates and acting upon favourable movements, leaving sellers with more revenue to invest back into their business.
The ecommerce market in France is the third largest in Europe, and the integration of Collection Accounts within the Cdiscount selling platform is set to make cross-border trade more accessible and profitable for overseas retailers wanting to reach the country’s millions of online shoppers.
