Best places to get married abroad in 2020

currency-newsBest places to get married abroad in 2020
If you’ve got an overseas wedding to plan in 2020 you’re probably feeling part excited, part overwhelmed – and with so many great destinations to choose from you may also be wondering where to start.

To help you on your way to the altar we’ve put together a quick list of some of the best places to get married abroad this year.

Dubrovnik, Croatia – make your vows in the Pearl of the Adriatic

If you’re unsure whether you want a city or a beach wedding, Dubrovnik (the southern-most city in Croatia which fronts the stunning Adriatic Sea) offers the best of both worlds.

Adding to the city’s appeal is its vast selection of luxury hotels, beautiful churches, villas and even beach clubs. Many of these destinations also have spectacular views of the Adriatic, which is especially notable in the summer months for its crystalline, almost Caribbean clarity.

Dubrovnik is an easy distance from the UK, (with a flight time of only a couple of hours) making it both convenient and comparatively cheap for loved ones and friends to attend.

Picturesque, historic and modern – where boutiques sit side-by-side with Medieval houses and ancient palaces – Dubrovnik is one of the most unique and impressive locations to get married in Europe.

Iceland – photos to remember at the Seljalandsfoss waterfall

One of the most evocative and myth-filled countries in Northern Europe, Iceland offers a one-of-a-kind experience. Take, for example, the famous Blue Lagoon, a favourite location for marriages due to its almost otherworldly quality of black sand contrasted against truly remarkable blue-hued waters.

You couldn’t go for a more Viking-style experience if you tried, with the volcanic cliffs sinking into the soulful Norwegian Sea. And if you really want wedding photos to remember, you could always visit the 200-foot-high Seljalandsfoss waterfall, which is surrounded by lush and rolling countryside.

Iceland’s memorable sites and unique atmosphere could make for a perfect wedding.

Sorrento, Italy – the gateway to the Amalfi Coast

Sorrento, which sits high above the bay of Naples, was seen as a necessary part of the ‘Grand Tour’ in the 19th century and played host to literary giants like Goethe, Charles Dickens and Tolstoy.

Now it’s fast becoming one of the most popular wedding destinations.

Easily reachable from both Naples and Pompeii at the end of the south-eastern end of the Circumvesuviana rail line, this the true gateway to the Amalfi Coast.

The historic seaside town has panoramic bay views, with a Mediterranean climate and a blend of Greek, Roman and Italian cultures.

Perhaps one of the most stunning venues is the Castore Eventi, which nestles between the green hills above Sorrento. Its terraces have an excellent view of the Isle of Capri and the famous Bay of Naples and Vesuvius, creating a magical atmosphere for your big day.

Additionally, you’ll have access to an elegant hillside restaurant, panoramic views, a no-time-restriction disco and an award-winning chef!

Las Vegas, United States – for the larger-than-life wedding

If you want to go all out, Las Vegas remains the biggest and glitziest 24-hour party hotspot in the world. Get married here and you’ll feel as if the whole city is celebrating with you.

You’re also spoilt for choice when it comes to luxury hotels on the neon-lit Strip, many world-renown for their lavishness and eccentricity. Whether you’ll be posing next to a pink Cadillac or holding hands in Las Vegas’ oldest chapel – A Little White Wedding Chapel – or even opting for a drive-thru wedding, memorable experiences are guaranteed.

If none of that floats your boat you could always have Elvis preside over your service, or get hitched in a helicopter. Yes, the possibilities are, quite frankly, endless.

However, with all the other inevitable additions of a Las Vegas wedding, you should prepare to splash out.
