What is the minimum amount that can be transferred?
You can send as little as £150 monthly or quarterly
What is the maximum amount that can be transferred?
On regular transfers the maximum amount is £4999. For transfers above this quantity
we recommend you speak to your dealer.
Can I change the date of my regular transfer?
Yes, as long as you send an email 7 working days in advance. Email us on firstname.lastname@example.org.
When do the funds leave my account?
We request the direct debit one day before the set up date, it will show as a debit
on your account on the 2nd or 3rd day after the set up date
and we receive funds within 4 working days. Once we have cleared funds in our account
we transfer to your nominated account within 24-48 hours.
If I know when I need the payment overseas, what date do I need to set up transfer?
You need to leave 10 working dates to ensure the funds are received on date required.
You also need to work within the set transfer dates (see below)
Example: If you want funds in an overseas account on the 1st of the month
you need to select the 20th as your set up date.
What dates can I establish regular transfers?
1st, 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th or 25th
these are set up dates but not date it arrives at destination. You need to add 7-10
days to these dates to calculate when it will be in your overseas account.
Can I change the amount?
Yes, simply send an email to

Can I cancel regular transfers?
If you find that you no longer require the regular transfer please send an email

Can I phone you with amendments?
No, we have to have all amendments and cancellations in writing.
Can you set up a regular transfer based on a quantity of foreign currency?
This can be easily done and is used by many clients who have to pay a set mortgage
or community fee in another currency. The amount debited from your UK account would
fluctuate based on the exchange rate on the set up day.
What rate will I receive?
You will receive the commercial rate of exchange on the date we attempt the direct
debit which is one day prior to your set up date. The rate is fixed on this date
and doesn’t change while we wait for funds to clear.
Will I receive commercial rates?
Yes, all regular transfers benefit from commercial rates of exchange.
Are there charges?
No, there is no charge to use this service even if you transfer the minimum amount
There can be charges levied by the receiving banks. Unfortunately we cannot predict
what these charges will be.
In order to prevent charges on US regular transfers we strongly recommend that you
provide us with the ABA Routing number as well as account details so the funds go
straight into your nominated account rather than via an intermediary bank who will

If your regular payment is to be made in euros we do offer a fixed rate service
which gives you complete security regarding the quantity of funds that will be received.
This service is only available for set up dates of 1st or 15th.
The minimum amount is £500 per month and the rate is fixed for 6 months. If you

Please note all regular transfers are calculated from the base currency of GBP.

If you have monthly or quarterly payments to make in another country, Currencies Direct will set up a regular transfer plan for you and you’ll never need to worry about the payments again.
Firstly you need to complete the form, which indicates the amount you want paid.
You will also need to provide us with a UK bank account from which the funds will be debited and the account details where you
want the funds to be transferred. It is important to provide us with as much information about the international accounts as possible.
Select a date for the set-up of your transfer – this is not the date the funds will arrive in the international account. The following dates in any month can be selected: 1st, 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th or 25th. We will apply to debit your account the day before your set-up date.
