Corporate social responsibility

Currencies Direct believe that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) underpins our approach to everything we do, not just being about charity but also about doing the right thing by our people, partners, customers and communities.

There are three main components of CSR that apply to Currencies Direct:

  • Our charitable approach (fundraising / corporate giving)
  • Our engagement with the community
  • Our environmental policy

We’ve been quietly supporting charities and good causes for over a decade. However we are now at the stage where we can make a clear statement in relation to our commitment to charitable causes. A structured support programme is now in place, under which our staff select the charity partners that we will support over the coming year.

Our staff is at the heart of our CSR program, it is an ethos and approach that is owned by them. Our CSR champions are representative of all parts of the business, co-ordinating and promoting the Currencies Direct CSR culture whilst encouraging our enthusiastic staff worldwide to get involved in a wide range of fundraising activities close to their hearts.

This is the first year and the start of our CSR program, however this is a long-term commitment by the company and all its employees.
As a business we fully recognise that our activities can have significant social impacts on business and society and we work hard to ensure that we optimise the positive effects and to minimise adverse impacts on the environment.

Currencies Direct are part of the heart of the city, Newcomers 2008 programme.
Heart of the City helps businesses in the City to learn from one another how to develop voluntary and socially responsible programmes in the community.


Business in the community

Business in the Community is a registered charity whose purpose is to inspire, engage, support and challenge companies on responsible business to continually improve their positive impact on society. As a membership organization the charity works with over 800 corporate members on community, workplace, marketplace and environmental issues.

Membership of Business in the Community is an active commitment to continually improve how a company manages resources wisely – be that people or our planet.
